Cutting Tool Packaging

Envelope or tube cutting tool packaging

Summit built its first automation for packaging cutting tools over 15 years ago. This machine was created for a drill bit manufacturer who had previously been packaging their product manually.

Our design minimized the set up required for cutting tool packaging by holding 20 different envelope sizes or material. It used a proven drum count and feed system.  Servo controls allow the machine to set itself up and adjust for different sized orders. Today, we are able to create much more flexible systems.

These new machines run by a single operator.  The equipment resulted in:

  • improved operator efficiency
  • accurate product count
  • applying corrosion prohibition
  • accurate package labeling
